Okay. Obviously, you have a choice as to who is your role model, who you admire, who you emulate, who you respect.

And no one can make you change your mind about that, that’s your own choice.

But here’s the thing …

“I don’t just like her because she’s Louis girlfriend!” is just like, a straight up lie.

Before you say anything, listen here. If you say:

“I like her cause of her fashion sense / style / beauty.” Okay, she’s a regular girl. Sure she’s good looking, and wears nice clothes, but have you ever been to New York City? Los Angeles? Every regular girl you pass in the street is thin, hair and make up perfect, stylish clothes. I don’t see any blogs called “that-girl-I-saw-on-the-subway-once-with-the-cute-skirt.” Let’s face it, if you saw Eleanor walking around Manchester two years ago before she met Louis, looking just as stylish and pretty as she does now, you would not give a flying fuck because there would be no Louis beside her.
“I like her because she’s so witty / funny / clever.” I’m sure she’s an interesting person but … I’ve never heard her speak. Pretty freaking psychic of you to know how funny she is based of her face. “But her tweets are so funny!” How many followers did she have before she dated Louis? Right.
“I like her because she’s so down to earth / a normal girl.” I admit, she doesn’t seem like super stuck up or anything, but I mean you can tell she dresses up 100% of the time when she’s out with Louis. Like, Louis (who is actually the famous one of the duo, if you’ve forgotten) is usually just in sweatpants or pajamas and a beanie, and she’s like, full on dressed up. Not saying it’s a bad thing, just that clearly she is aware that she is no longer a normal girl and that she is in the public eye. And let’s face it, there are loads and loads of normal, nice girls who go to school and such who you would never think to look up to because you don’t know them.

I guess what I’m saying is, it’s fine if you think Eleanor Calder is your role model, but you have to admit, it’s mainly from Louis.

Put it this way - fame is the recognition of talent or skill, so looking up to someone means you recognize things they’ve done to make them famous / make you look up to them, which for Eleanor is a) being pretty b) being stylish c) being normal - all of which are rather regular accomplishments, where it not for the fact that she’s dating Louis. So that’s her “major accomplishment,” that you look up to her for, which I suppose, yeah you could say bagging a One Direction member is an accomplishment .. ? Ehh.

Anyways, point of the story is you do not like Eleanor for Eleanor. Because when (if?) Louis and her break up, then you’ll lose interest and move onto the next whoever.

I know some people are gonna be all, “No!! I’ll stand by El 4ever Calderic for lyfe <3.” They probably think they’re showing that they DO like Eleanor for herself, that they’re dedicated GODDAMMIT.

Well, when (if?) she’s not Louis girlfriend anymore and you still kiss the ground she walks on, you’ll be worshipping a decent looking girl from Manchester who goes to school and shops and drinks Starbucks a lot.
